I know this blog has been abandoned for the past 6 months or so, but Brick is alive and well!

Brick is one today! He had a great first weekend home from camp. This photo is from today at the Sunday market in Fremont.
This is Brick at camp showing us how he goes to his “rug” when told. Tomorrow is our last meeting before he comes home :)

Sometimes, the only thing that gets me through a rough day is knowing he’s waiting for me when I get home, and he’ll be his predictably silly happy frappy self. It’s been REALLY LAME without my best furry friend at home. HOWEVER, in about a week and a half he’ll be graduated with his doctorate in canine good manners. I am beyond excited for him to come home! Our next meeting is focused around long line control (which will transition to off leash control). He’s making great progress so far!
Brick’s first progress report:
We got to see Brick on Saturday! He has learned SO much. I can’t believe the little monster walks so perfectly on a leash now. He seems to love his trainers! Brick is especially stubborn…even as corgis go…so we have a lot to learn as well, in order for him to retain everything he’s learning. Hopefully I can post a video after our next visit!
An update on Brick…
Brick is almost halfway through a 5 week board and train program right now! It was tough leaving him when the longest I’ve ever been without him is maybe 3 days…but he’s learning so much there and I’m glad.
Brick’s new home is in Seattle (we moved last week), and he isn’t a city dog - he’s used to off leash romps in the woods, he is NOT used to being tethered to me on the sidewalk! His trainers have informed me that he walks perfectly on a leash now (no pulling at all…I can hardly believe it) and he’s getting desensitized to distractions such as other approaching dogs while on leash. I’m so happy he has a crew of professionals to help him adjust to a new environment - I had no idea where to begin. With moving, vacations and wedding planning, this was the perfect time for Brick to go to summer camp :)
He gets his first visit from me and his dad on Saturday and I am SO EXCITED TO SEE HIM!
